Contradiction Poem by Ann Thrope

Contradiction

Rating: 4.0

I tried, but it was a lie.
I lied, but it was true.
I gave in, but did not let go.
I let you in, but watched with wary eyes.
I said i loved you, but burned with hate.
I said i didn't like you, but burned with desire for your touch.
I looked you in the eye, but never held my stare.
I looked away, but to tell the truth.
Truth hurts, but i love the way you lie.
Lying is easy, honesty is painfully beautiful.
Cutting is pain, but i hate pain.
You lied, but i kept believing.
We kissed, but i was gone already.
I am breathing, but dead on the inside.
I am alive, but only by technical terms.
I fear you, but long for you.

I am contradiction at its worst..
loved,
needed,
hated,
I Am Omni-Present,
never gone.
YOU. LOVE. ME.
