Conquistador Poem by Mellisa Salazar

Conquistador

cry and cry a river

to drown in your own tears

how deeply must you sink

to know that you’re alright

for always in the darkness

the moon shall shed her light

so fall, and fall, and fall

into the bottom of the sea

you will find that even there

there’s air for you to breathe
