Confused Face Poem by Stan Rodriguez

Confused Face

Swarms of bees' fly searching in my thoughts
looking for some honey—the image that was us

Sweet was the taste you left on my lips
even as your whispers—said good-bye to me.

A gentle touch on a confused face, was what I felt
or was it trash—the morning did unveil?

Remnants of a love that went astray
never to recover from the sum of us—

for, there wasn't room enough to conjure some retreat
or summon back the happy hands—when we did meet.

I wish you well, Beloved,
through your days and sweetness in your sleep

may all the joy and health that life can bring
cover you in peace.

COMMENTS OF THE POEM

A poignant poem of love beautifully crafted. The penultimate stanza is very thoughtful. Great piece.
