Confidence Poem by Emmanuel Adekunle

Confidence

Memory and the heart
gullible and still the same
as it was two years ago
the body of a wise man
is the knowledge
and success of his life

Forget academic success
he is nothing after that
leave out academic confidence
he is the most fearful man
great God, he prayed in Wordsworth's voice
my heart is so numb to confidence

Bring in courage
this is another disgrace to him
cut it short and let him
have some peace of mind
he looks on to God
for the final deliverance
of his life

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Ten minutes to 5 and the unexpected happened. Greeted by an acquaintance that left him befuddled.
