Confession Poem by Dorsey Baker

Confession

You did it
the Lord knows
you did
still trying to
keep a straight face
that slight smile
just a mask
look so
out of place
see yourself
in the mirror
where are the tears?
where is
the sadness?
does it sleep
behind your eyes?
will there ever be
a distance
between you and
your pain
and will you
only see darkness
when the morning sun
creeps into your window?
