Common Sense Poem by Alfred Ramos

Common Sense

Rating: 5.0

If you go off to war
Common sense says you will bring back a scar
And there’s a chance that you will die
Make some loving mother cry
If you drive your car way too fast
Common sense tells you one day you’ll come in last
And with your petal to the metal
There‘s an argument we won’t have to settle
If you put down the liquor hard
Common sense is you are going to be caught off guard
Kill your liver and whose knows what
Probably spend time in recovery doing squat
If you do too much drugs
Common sense says you’ll probably need some hugs
While we try to change your sparkplugs
But we can’t help you with the invisible bugs
If you smoke cigarette after cigarette
Common sense says you’re a tobacco companies’ marionette
Who will pull your strings down a dark alley
They are but a few who send their clients to Death Valley
If you chase women after women
Common sense tells me that your head will be swimmin’
You will drown in a whirlpool of confusion
Where happiness is but a dizzy illusion
Don’t know if you already heard
Women always get in the last word
