Colour-Line Poem by Judith Vriesema

Colour-Line

When the wind sings in gusts of colour,
ghosts dream in the blue of your eyes.
When sagas fall into a fire that lights the night sky with tears,
your heart breaks a glacier and collides with llove.
When you sigh,
the elves laugh to the sound of your dreams.
When the snow falls and cavorts with the sea,
your footfalll dances across a stage of sky.
When I hear you in my heart,
I see reykjavik,
Once,
twice,
thrice,
count the steps I know so well..
In my music,
I see your face compose the notes.
In my memory,
the seagulls call your name across the barrier of time.
Music,
every note that I play,
everything that I compose feels your heartbeat.
Once,
twice,
thrice,
roll the universal dice.
Love calls in the eternal wind.
