Cold Silent Sleep Poem by L.B. Temuco

Cold Silent Sleep

Preparing for winter
in swathes of golden beams
the tree conserves itself
for its cold silent sleep

Beneath the frozen ground
it is not alone, reaching out
sharing the earth
it's dark symphony with others

Is this where I am too
in the Autumn of the heart
with one eye on the past
the other closing
