Christmas Story, 2012 Poem by Dr John Celes

Christmas Story, 2012

A baby boy is born in Bethlehem,
In just a manger, sleeping upon hay!
In wee hours of a morn in winter's cold,
For there was no room at the inn for Him!

A virgin was His mother upon earth;
The Holy Spirit conceived Him this way;
The Word of God took flesh in Mary's womb!
Foretold by prophets, He was ‘Emmanuel'!

The baby was to be the Messiah!
The love of God had sent Him to save man;
He came to forgive sins of all mankind,
As man could not rise to God's perfection!

The baby brought both peace and joy for us;
He was to suffer and die on the cross;
He shed His blood for mankind's every sin!
Heaven opened unto repentant man!

What love God showed for His creature called ‘man'!
He sacrificed His only beloved Son;
Christ Jesus rose to life upon third day!
He went to heaven and awaits us all!

Jesus will come as King of kings again!
He comes to judge all mankind with fairness;
The righteous then share God's eternity;
All evil souls will stay in hell forever!

Advent is time for souls to welcome Christ!
Confess all sins, reconcile with the Lord;
A soul must be most pure to receive Him;
SO, CELEBRATE CHRISTMAS BEFITTINGLY!
