Children's Inheritance Poem by Paul Sebastian

Children's Inheritance

Rating: 5.0

Hewed forest trees burnt
Gas emissions from vehicles
Factories’ foul smoke sky sent
Ozone layer is CFC-riddled

Thick smog pollutes the air
Kids and elders trapped in illness
NGOs shout for all they care
Health hazards pose helplessness

Mushroomed concrete jungle
Pesticides coated vegetables
Chickens hormone-grown to swindle
Additive-dye tainted food made palatable

Aggressive ads lure children to junk food
Obese inactive kids become indolent
Food for love, maladjusted childhood
Agility displaced, spiritually weakened

Man forsakes children’s inheritance
For profit-making is his main intent
Heirs’ future traded for indifference
Man’s greed: profiting from selfish intent
