Cheerleaders Of Inner Or Outer Space Poem by Robert Rorabeck

Cheerleaders Of Inner Or Outer Space

I’ll piss as my dogs piss,
In the night in the snow, heedlessly as the traffic moves
I’ll think of Elisabeth Shue and karate;
And I won’t care how long it will take me to get
Back to them.
My back will be tired and no females will love me,
But I will find my dogs again and they will love me,
And then there will be time enough for stories to
Tell S-,
And pirates, and the lisps of waves and light houses even
When there arent no more conquistadors,
As we left them all back through high school,
Worshipping at the drinking fountains,
And I am just a boy who wants to live forever
Who doesn’t know any kungfoo;
And I just want to live forever, but it is still so expensive
To even begin to consider leaving this casual place
For the sweet cheerleaders of inner or
Outer, outer space!
