Charade Poem by Amateur Vagabond

Charade

Rating: 5.0

Goals....Legacies
I've no interest in them
The joy of each day eludes me

All of the faking
Pretending
Hoping no one suspects

Who can fake the best?
With your distracting behaviors
Finding reasons to ignore the reality
of your pain

and I am labeled a masochist
because I don't like charades

You would be like me, you know
If you let down your guard

No one wants to go down that road

While you dance I wallow in the
oppressive pool of truth

Floating through the realizations
that everything is not ok

You know if you see the pain in you
You'll see the pain in life
Begatting the pondering of life

Everyone dances far from the ledge
While I dangle on the edge
Staring down the pavement
Asking 'Will you end my pain? '

Yelling obscenities at those
too scared to notice
the futility of it all
