Change Of Leadership... Poem by RIC BASTASA

when i was young the moment a new leader
is chosen or elected, and as i watched the
oath taking and inauguration, i was always awed,
and thought that change for the better was coming.
i watched the fireworks, and the listened to the singers
and watched the show and feel the excitement of
the people,

now, honestly no more.

it will be the same kind of leaders through and though
same oppression, same vested interests, more critics in the
coming days, more mud slinging still,
more money shall be wasted, and the people who are
elated, will be the same people who will be cheated,
and defrauded, and left to the poverty that all these
politicians cause them from day one to day end.
