Chance Encounter Poem by Steven B Taylor

Chance Encounter

I met an artist on the Grand, one day,
And warmth reflected in her smile.
She helped me pass the hours away;
She showed me her artistic style.

We met inside the small cafe
And shared a glass of wine.
We soon forgot the rain delay.
We talked of things sublime.

Her charcoal drawings did reveal
The thoughts I chose to write.
Her willingness to share did seal
My words, in pictures bright.

A chance encounter thus declared
Two souls connected by the arts.
'Twas commonalities that we shared,
And the creativity of our hearts.

It made me wonder, how many souls
I might have met as I did roam,
Who could have shared themselves so bold,
And thus become a poem?
