Chains Of Time Poem by Michel Antoine

Chains Of Time

CHAINS OF TIME
Michel Antoine April 27,2012

In a field of lavender we lay,
Talking of our fears of yesterday
Loving our promises of tomorrow
We grew into one.

I quiver at your touch of gentleness,
You were always on my mind.
Your love, I will forever miss,
We rose above the chains of time.

I miss your tender heart-in emptiness,
I resign myself to be alone.
Always softly in all this quietness,
A stillness surrounds me and it's known.

CHORUS:

Pretend you love frames my face,
I lie awake tonight.
In bitter solitude I trace,
Your scent rings on my pillowcase.
Where did our promises go?
They seemed so close to touch,
Yet we're miles apart at last,
How I miss your love so much.

In a field of lavender we strayed
So far from one another are we now.
Time, they say, can heal all wounds.- I pray,
For that hourglass to break the sands somehow.
