Cats And Dogs Rain Poem by Binoy Barman

Cats And Dogs Rain

Have you ever seen heavy showers?
Drenched all fields, roads and towers
Air gets opaque with mists and fogs
You phrase it raining cats and dogs
But do you know the story behind
Listen to it if you have that mind
In remote past for a piece of cake
At a combat who is going to take
“It’s mine, ” mewed a daring cat
Dog barked, “How dare you say that?
I’ll take it by hook or by crook.”
“Never, ” his long tail the cat shook
They kicked off a terrible fight
That went on whole day and night
All other cats and dogs out there
Joined respective teams for share
Nobody managed to stop that brawl
It continued with jump and crawl
Villagers threw stones and bricks
But failed badly all kinds of tricks
Suddenly the sky was full of cloud
Roaring, roaring and roaring aloud
Waters poured down hard like hell
When cats and dogs settled quarrel
Since then people call such rain
Cats and dogs, with joy or pain!
