Carry Poem by Makala Kuhle

Carry

I wanted to carry you,
Through dreadful waters,
So you knew you could trust me to pull you back.

But you were like a messy hurricane,
Changing the flow of my life like undertow,
Wanting to drag me down, never wanting me with you.

I tried to be a raging storm, to show you I was strong,
Our two storms clashed like rivals,
Two forces that couldn’t belong.
