Careless Whispers Poem by H Seeking

Careless Whispers

Rating: 2.0

This is the real me
For all the world to see
I only pay attention
To what matters, I be

I slip, I fumble, I fall,
I leave my worries, my all
I am now carefree
I am having a ball

Life is too short
To worry when people snort
Find faults, errors
Or rip my bones apart

A lifetime of careful,
Pains, deep and soulful
Often mine, often thine
Made me thus remorseful

Now it is careless whispers
Just before the vespers
In this dotage that
I'm unable to disperse

Salt and water intersperse
As freely flow the tears
Without you near
It only gets worse

You pick on me
You say you see through
And find innocent
Every other he or she

You share with them wine
Thoughts of the universe sublime
They were just for us
While I thought you were mine

I am soaked to skin in devotion
Sensitivity and emotion
Awaiting your one word
To sort out this confusion
