Can'T Catch My Breath Poem by Jessica Gabanyic

Can'T Catch My Breath

Silence screams around me,
suffocating the world I once knew,
the people I trust dear
Whisper lies that only I can hear,
with backs turned
they can't see I fell apart,

I fight to see,
when I'm blinded by deceit,
I fight the pain
losing every time,
the cries they hear,
Are cries of fear and pain,

What meant something,
Now means nothing,
my eyes are closed,
my heart shut off,

Hope finds me here,
With love and care,
my world once turned upside down,
now turned up right,

the laughter you hear,
Are out of pure joy.
