Can I Forgive Her? Poem by Aldo Kraas

Can I Forgive Her?

Rating: 2.8

Another night with open eyes
Too late to sleep, too soon to rise
I am short of breath, is it a heart attack?
Hot and feverish I face the fact
I am in love, and it feels like shame
Because she's gone and made a fool of me in public again
I am in love, and it feels like pain
Because I know there's too much truth in everything she claims
So I ask myself now: Can I forgive her
If she wants me to?
I ask myself: Can I even deliver
What she demands of me?
I drifed into the strangest dreams
Of youthful follies and changing teams
She admist that she is wrong
Then I wake up and remember that you can't forget
She made me some kind of laughing stock
Because I dance to disco, and you don't like rock
She makes fun of me, and even in bed she said that she was going to get Herself a real man instead
So I ask myself now: Can I forgive her
If she begs me to?
I ask myself: Can I even deliver
What she demands of me?
Or do I want revenge?

Wow! Definitely one of the most in depth poems by the poet! Forgiveness is a nice thing to be able to do but sometimes what the person did is just too hard to forgive so it might be best to just let go of the relationship and move on. Revenge is never a good idea. It just lowers you to that persons level.
