Calling Poem by Laura Anne

Calling

Standing at the pier calling
anxiously, fearfully
calling into the thick fog for him
waiting for an answer or a sign.
A simple sign of hope
A slight whisper of his voice
Letting her know
That she won't be forgotten
That she won't be alone
That he will be back for her.
Keep on calling for him
because to stop calling out
would mean giving up
Giving up on her hopes, her dreams
giving up on him and
Giving up on herself.
So she keeps on calling
Waiting for an answer…
