Caged Birds Poem by G. Akanji Olaniyi

Caged Birds

Rating: 4.0

Caged birds in their confinements sing
The songs of freedom
Everyday
Every hour
Every minute
Every second
They sing to be heard
For freedom to fly away
Even in sheer provision of nutrition
Nothing is sweeter than freedom
When they could go hungry
By choice
Or eat whatever they could
They sing for help
This may never come
