By The Wind Poem by Jasmine Williams

By The Wind

I wasn't moved by beauty
I wasn't moved by skies of blue.
I wasn't moved by fancy jewels.
I wasn't moved by violet roses,
or flowery prose from fools.
I wasn't moved by rhythm or blues
I wasn't moved by sadness,
I wasn't moved by groups,
I wasn't moved by kin,
They were ignorant and uncouth.
I wasn't moved by duplicitous friends,
their hallow benevolence I refused.
I wasn't moved by famous stories,
And the glory of begotten past.
I wasn't moved by poetic allegories
Or fleeting moments or fads,
I was moved by the sound of the crash.
I was moved by the black.
I was moved in death at the end,
Alone in the darkness is where I stood.
Between the junction at the bend.
I stretched my hands above me.
I was moved by the wind.
