By Hand Poem by Rob Knetsch

By Hand

those hands
in pairs, the two
many pairs of them
hitting each other
to the clap

a single hand
just the one
in anger or insult
touching skin
to the hit

them two by two
hidden in leather
bound by laces
striking flesh
to knock out

one or two
on the other
moving softly
caressing all
to be as love
