Busker's Boulevard Poem by Colin Coplin

Busker's Boulevard

Rating: 4.5

Suburban squire thinks that, one day he'll be a star
So, every evening he goes, busking with his guitar
He needs the money 'cause he says he's got to pay the bills
But we all know he'll spend the cash on other thrills
I know, life can be, very hard
Down, on Busker's Boulevard

Business man, walking down this busy street
Takes some time out, to stand and watch the poor boy sing
And contemplates awhile on questions that need answering
Then wanders off, to the tune the poor boy sings
I know, life can be, very hard
Down, on Buskers' Boulevard

I know, life can be, very hard
Down, on Buskers' Boulevard

The wind blows, lovers hold each other close
Share a kiss a movie, coffee at Piccolo's
They pass the fortune teller and they get their fortunes read
Two minutes later, hit by a car the fortune teller's dead
I know, life can be, very hard
Down, on Buskers' Boulevard

I know, life can be, very hard
Down, on Buskers' Boulevard

The street sweeper, drives his green machine
Cleans up all trace of last nights scenes
He looks around and smiles, he's so very proud
He keeps the cleanest streets, in this whole town

I know, life can be, very hard
Down, on Buskers' Boulevard
I know, life can be, very hard
Did you hear that they're closing down the Boulevard
Suburban squire thinks that, one day he'll be a star
