Burst Of Sunshine Poem by Kaila George

Burst Of Sunshine

The burst of sunshine

Brought forth a smile on my face

As I looked out the window of my humble abode

There in the after math of a sudden down pour of rain

Bathing its self in the puddles that dappled across the lane

Was a small brown breasted fantail

Preening its feathers with care

Then to my surprise a second and third

Flew in to swim in the puddles of rain

It was like a family at bath time with little ones splashing and playing

Enjoying and having fun in the warm summer sun

Then our local cat came out to hunt and play

And frightened the fantails as they scattered away

Even though brief, it was a wonderful sight

I do so enjoy Mother Nature’s abundance in life
