Burned By A Cold Heart Poem by Linda I. Weischedel

Burned By A Cold Heart

Rating: 5.0

How much can a person really take,
to endure this pain before they turn to forsake?
You take, and take, and take, listening to thier lies,
you stare straight into their eyes,
giving your trust after so many countless tries.
You show them that you truly care,
yet they treat you so unfair.
Some hearts then turn cold,
seemingly those hearts are borrowed then sold,
the personality then becomes sheeringly bold,
you no longer trust in what your being told.
You are told that your wanted and loved,
knowing better you allow yourself to feel that gentle touch,
when really they are only gonna take what they want,
and they honestly don't even care for you all that much.
Being used IS being abused.
