Buddhist Baptism Poem by Suzanne Hayasaki

Buddhist Baptism

Rating: 4.5

Follow me into the forest.
Sit with me under this tree.
Rest your hands in your lap
And straighten your back.

Balance your head on your neck,
Let your thoughts go
As your eyes close
And your heart slows.

Listen with me to the peace.
Feel the sunlight and shadow
On your lap as clouds pass by
And the sun slides through the sky.

Here in your mind's eye it is spring.
Here is where things begin.
Here it is safe to let go of the pain
That anchors you to your past.

In this state you are eternal.
In this state you are free.
Focus inward on the divine light
Let it grow to consume your whole soul.

There, swaddled in pure energy,
You will discover your true identity.
