British Folk Legend Poem by Joyce Hemsley

British Folk Legend

Twelfth Century folk hero
Lancelot of the Lake
was loyal and trusted ~
idolized by Arthur the King.
But Lancelot's heart was
pierced through by Cupid
and he fell in love with
Guinevere, wife of the King.
He wooed the queen with
respect and chivalry, but
all was 'hush' on the love
affair scene...
Arthur was sad and died
because Lancelot had stolen
his bride, taking her a-roaming
into the hills and countryside.
Such a sad Welsh Legend.
And depressing fairy tale.
