Breaking Up Poem by Daya Nandan

Breaking Up

No one wants to give up on someone they love,
Believing that things ending was fate from god above,
But sometimes we are forced to make hard decisions,
That brings within ourselves chaos and collisions,

It is easy to say, 'never-give-up, 'until you have been there,
That moment when your heart is filled with sorrow and despair,
You finally realise that all the emptiness, pain and dysfunction,
Are too much of a problem to make a normal relationship function,

You can only hold the line of rope for so long,
When times are tough and everything has gone wrong,
Eventually when you start getting rope burns on each hand,
You will have to let go and let the relationship end,

Letting go can be an excruciating pain to the heart,
Leaving behind all the memories of a relationship torn apart,
All the good and the bad moments will fade with time,
You will heal and eventually be fine.
