Breaking The Mountain Poem by Dónall Dempsey

Breaking The Mountain

Rating: 2.4

I dive into
the mountain

shatter its reflection
its clouds scattering...rippling

the cold grey water
closes over

my human
form

as the mountain
quickly now
reforms

and its clouds
return like sheep.

there is only silence
where I have vanished

the surface reflecting
only stillness

and the stopping
of Time.

Centuries
seem to pass

as I
finally

return to the world
with a gasp

my eyes drinking in
the mountain

laughing with sunshine.

First there is a mountain then there is no mountain then there is...this is mellow yellow Mr. Sunshine Man! Well I walk up to a mountian...smash down with the palm of my hand. What a glorious moment...I just adore living in your poetry and where you can bring me with just a couple of your words. Love it! You can see what I have on my turntable day...Hendrix and Donovan...all scritchy scratchy records found at the market today for only 50p each...it brings me all the way back and your words just send me places I ain't been before. Je t-adore! love Debbie Debs
