Break To Build Poem by Kaleb Gonzalez

Break To Build

Ive been down this road before,

where does it end,

i seen the closed windows and doors,

all the people playing pretend,

No matter if i walk, drive, or fly

i move at the same speed,

and not looking at me, can anybody save me?

Im breaking, FYI,

However im building from where i broke,

and my problems now seem like jokes,

i laugh the pain i had,

and now im not even mad,

see you worry about trying to stand tall,

but at least your standing on your own feet,

some people try to stand on anybody they meet,

some cant stand at all,

All the insults in the world couldnt bring me down,

nor make me frown,

who are you to say who i am, what i should be,

i carve my own path in life,

with my mind's knife,

life distorts what you see,

I am a child of god,

I make mistakes, and i hurt, and cry,

i sit at home, whine, pout, and ask why,

but i get over it, because sometimes you got to break to build...
