Bottom Of The Reef (Nonsense Poem) Poem by David Harris

Bottom Of The Reef (Nonsense Poem)

Way down under, the sea
the octopus danced with the squid
to the tune the mermaids played
I wanna play house with you.
The shark and the whale danced too,
everyone was having fun
as the mermaids played at the reef dance hall.
Opposites connect in funny ways
and the party was in full swing
when old Neptune swam in.
He grabbed Mrs Crab
and danced the boogie-woogie
as the mermaids played
I wanna play house with you.
As far as I know,
the mermaids are still playing
at the bottom of the reef
to everyone feeling lonely.
