Blue Trees Poem by Jeri Martindale

Blue Trees

Oh look at all the blue trees, all the blue trees around me.

The wind blowing their leaves, their beautiful blue leaves all around me.

Look at all the blue trees, all the blue trees around me.

They make me want to dance to the songs that they sing.

And so I sway away into their leaves hoping to find the man of my dreams.

There he stands looking down on me holding out his hands.

The purple sky behind him takes away my sight.

Making me walk closer to it, to touch it tonight

As I walk closer, someone following close behind?

I stop, it stops too and slowing I turn to find?

There he stands, hair blowing in the wind, his blue eyes staring straight into me.

He reaches for my face, his hands are rather cold.

Then I placed my hands on his and oh how they got so warm.

Tis love, I felt with him;
This love, the greatest feeling in the universe.

I knew I was his the moment I decent

Sent by the beautiful blue trees blowing in the wind.

Blowing their blue leaves and singing their songs making me dance.

Luring me into their dreams to meet this unknown man.
