Bloody, Empty Hands Poem by C. K. Young

Bloody, Empty Hands

Alone
Like a grain of sand...
As I gaze down
At my bloody, empty hands...
Bloody because
You broke my heart...
Empty because
You never gave me yours from the start...
Never before
Have I felt so hollow...
All alone
Full of sadness, I wallow...

I cannot and will not
Ever escape this pain...
To me it seems
That my heart was broken in vain...
Hearts are so brittle
But you didn't seem to care...
All because of you
My heart will never repair...
You were my heaven
But it seems I'm damned to hell...
What's left of me
Is but a broken, hollow shell...
You're the reason
I'm empty, bloody and alone...
I doubt I can make
It all on my own...
