Black Lives Matter Poem by Uma nair

Black Lives Matter

Rating: 5.0

Between the skins
Of white and white
Black and black

The honey tones
Of summer and
Gunshot wounds

Voices of generations
Breathe and burn
Into the halls of history

Give me the
Darkness of ebony
The classic satin

Smooth sophistication
Of Maya Angelou's
Glistening skin shining

A ray of purest
Radiance born to
Bring valour

As time goes
By to glimpse
Casablanca's strains

And grains of
Momentum and mandarin
Metaphors like Morgan

Freeman's smoky sound
Or Idris Elba's
Dungeon deep resonance

Serena's silhouette
Sweeping Wimbledon courts
Lebron's lethal block

Black for me
Is music and
Lyrics and Harmony

Black lives live
Black lives matter
Black lives live.
