Bitter Ice Poem by Sheri Green

Bitter Ice

Liquid reflections mock my pleas
In silken voices that taunt and tease

I hear the vexing cry of my soul's own keen
As I am caught within this tangled skein

Gazing into the distant looking glass eyes
I am pierced by a hate that electrifies

So I try to find some kind of veritable sign
Within those eyes that peer inside

But my eternal demise is all I descry
As I am bathed within these white-washed lies

And so the final note has been sung
As I fall to the side of equilibrium
