Bipolar Poem by Carolyn June

Bipolar

Please don't try to diagnose me
Mental illness is real, not mythology
Stop trying to fix me; just let me be
As hard as you try there is no remedy

Facets of my mind I can easily hide
I am good at hiding what I feel inside
Should I fight to live or commit suicide?
End this paradigm of Jekyll and Hyde

Do you touch a flame and not get burned?
If no one will teach, when does one learn?
Text books you read; degrees you earned
Stay out of my head; it is not your concern

A blind man feels to communicate
Like mist in the air, sanity dissipates
Unresolved frailties are an open gate
That leaves one exposed to a horrible fate
