Bill Passed Last Night, Not So Fast Poem by Luke Easter

Bill Passed Last Night, Not So Fast

A good friend of mine and I were eating lunch the other day,
When he broke out with the timeless saying, “oh by the way, ”
A guy we knew from racquetball the night before passed away,
Bill Thompson by name as a vision came of him in the grave.

So I told another guy with whom Bill was very close to as well,
Naturally other friends and acquaintances Milton began to tell,
But remember the television show, “Mr. Ed” the talking horse?
To make a long story short, first you must consider the source.

Ok, exactly from whom the deadly news of demise had I heard?
Should have suspected something because it was Gregory Curd,
He’s the guy in the poem, “Wrong Day Milton & Long Way Greg.
I am sure Bill is glad it turned out to be someone pulling his leg.

What a good sport, can’t imagine my reaction from learning I died,
Wonder how many would be laughing & how many would’ve cried,
I know I’d be overjoyed to learn I am wide-awake, very much alive,
I have been through quite a lot but it’s the 1st time death I survived.

So, for more than 48-hours confusion actually reined for a while,
Testimony, flowers and feasting, Bill was going to go out in style,
Elaborate setting, reminiscing, imagine this happening if you can,
Only to have the deceased walk in and declare, “Hey! Here I am! ”

2,000+ years ago there was a cross, nails, spear, death, a grave,
But on day three the man know as Jesus was miraculously raised,
The ultimate blood sacrifice for all mankind to be healed and saved,
Had Bill died it wouldn’t be spiritually let everyone give GOD Praise.
