Big Ole Baby Blues Poem by Matthew Ray Long

Big Ole Baby Blues

Rating: 5.0

Woke up this mornin, put on my face for this world. Woke up this mornin, put on my face for this world. If I don't fix myself, run around all day chasin squirrels. People just don't get me, can't let my love unfurl. I said I just can't let that love of mine unfurl. Never had nothin, now I got it all with my girl. They tell me Jesus loves me, then tell me where to send the check. Said they tell me Jesus loves me, I need to know where to send that check. I been workin so hard lately, never get rest my neck. And it's tired baby. So tired baby. Aching back get no respect. Aching back get no respect. That boss man he hates me, got a target on my back. Big ole target baby, painted right there on my back. I swear if I make it to the mountains, I ain't ever lookin back. Not for one second honey, nothin back there but a trap. Big ole nasty trap. Please please come with me, we can go half in on a sack.
