Betrayal Poem by Owen Yang

Betrayal

Rating: 5.0

No matter what happens to my pride
No matter how low my spirit
I will have to take this all in my stride
For my life is not without merit!

No matter how much it is shunned
No matter if I need to seem a stranger
I will not let it make me gunned
I will not accept that I am a danger!

If I must turn on my closest friends
And be all alone in the world
At least have a hope, that I have no fiends
Even as my sail must be furl'd!

As everyone says with a sigh,
I, I made the mistake of thinking
Of reaching too far and high.
And now my ray of life
My way of life, it is sinking
Amidst all the world's strife!
