Bereavement Poem by sholadoye Dada

Bereavement

Why will you bereave for me?
After I invested in a paradigm that’s not sure for me
After I watched my family drench and I shouted mummy!
After failing in a relationship that’s so dear to me
The gut still blister in me
And I will keep saying without and within me
Mourn for yourself, not for me

“The world will after feel so cold.”
My mama will always say, “As I was told.”
I tried my best that kept coming to unfold
But the anger lies buried within to always quote
“Mourn for yourself, not for me”

Things fallen apart from a very tender formative age
More film to act on a very wide range
Fighting so hard to instigate a very small change
For innumerous part of a second, I say like a plague
Mourn for yourself, not for me

Trying to build on the foundation that is torn
Knowing fully-well that all is lost at the shot of a gun
Helping to rekindle a kindled candle, Brittany did though she’s gone
The truth remains that all is lost and nothing can be done
Mourn for yourself, not for me

Wailing from now till tomorrow cannot help a thing
Crying for sale or a tank filled cannot yield a pin
My world is isolated and I have no next of kin
I feel absolutely like a fish without fin
So why ask me to say something
When you know that there is nothing
Morn for yourself, not for me.
