Beneath The Splintered Corner Poem by Eloisa Gearhart

Beneath The Splintered Corner

in that splintered corner
at the top of the barn's raftered ceiling
where one standing below
may, at the right moment
see twilight form
in forgotten spaces and
sense wind walking
between sleeve and skin
of broken and haunted places

I whispered, 'God? '
