Belly Dancer Poem by Gordon D Wilkinson

Belly Dancer

Rating: 4.5

Slowly gyrating as she came closer to show
Hips flicking high and low fast and slow
Faster the rhythm built up the faster she moved
Smiles showed that everyone approved
This dervish figure hips and body moving so fast
I wondered how long at this pace she could last
So intense was this mystical dance
Hearts and minds were in a trance
The music went in pitch from high to low
Making the music reach a crescendo
Faster she went her muscles straining
Keeping to the music was entertaining
With a flourish and dash, she seems so nimble
She shook that room like playing a cymbal
Eyes that never left me throughout at all
This was my day that my belly dancer came to call
