Being The Shortest In The Family Poem by Toshie Nohara

Being The Shortest In The Family

Oh
Of all my siblings, I am the shortest
But never mind.Soon you will hear
That they are kind and dear to me
'Cos I was born Number ONE in the family

I thank God I am loved and appreciated
I thank God I am highly respected
By my nine wonderful sisters
And three tall brothers

Seldom without help though I am the shortest
So glad I am the luckiest one
Not a crick in my neck
'Cos the taller siblings surely help

In school I sit at the front row in class
Not because I wear glasses (Advantage of being the SHORTEST)
Mrs. Danker knows this 'Shorty' pays much attention
'Cos I listen to her explanation with much concentration

At tennis games I play in the doubles
Stay at the net and smash the ball without trouble
Feel really blessed in many ways
'Cos my tennis partner is grateful always

Being a short teacher is an honor
Student's faithful obedience makes me wonder
No disrespectful comment about my height whate'ver
I admire them with delight forever

No complex even being the shortest
I can have joy in living
A life with thanksgiving to God
To fulfil my heart with happiness.
