Behind The Curtain Of Her Eyes Poem by Nikhila Churia

Behind The Curtain Of Her Eyes

Behind the curtain of her eyes;
I see a tear lingering deep inside;
She silently whispers but goes unheard;
And sighs in agony seeing none beside.

Under the blanket of the sky;
She lies down closing her tired eyes;
While she slowly starts humming a tune;
She hears an echo from far behind.

Her piercing eyes were full of warmth;
'Was she expecting someone close? '
She rested her eyes on the walls of night;
Gazing ahead into the depths, for a light.

Up in the sky, the moon was bright;
Her lips were curled into a wonderful smile;
And her tears had sparkled like those stars above;
Which adorned the palaces of the sky.

As the darkness grew into the depths of night;
She realized the echo was just a lie;
She closed her eyes in deep regret;
'Let me run away from this burdened life'.

Among the many faces in life;
She searched for a face that was just too nice;
For a place where she could hide herself;
When the pain was just too huge to bear.

'No life is always hard as rock';
She was alone like an orphaned child;
May be someday this world would see;
The tears behind those curtained eyes.
