Beginning Of Something Poem by Courtney Steele

Beginning Of Something

Rating: 2.3

In this world of pain I have become quite numb
God anoints my head with oil and places bread upon my tongue
indulging in the forbidden it seems that I would drown
but there is no redemption when lost dreams are not found
the sun beams down
and to living I am bound
I chose to live so of course I couldn't turn around
bacteria decompose riots away the mold
you confided in me those secrets remain untold
I couldn't mend your condition but your heart I consoled
whom shall be the best if we all lack control
they say we live in time but everytime has a place
those we have loss and aspirations we secretly chase
we all hope but retrieve it as grace.
