Beethoven And Elise (For Tanja) ~ Betoven I Eliza Poem by Jankovic Zoran

Beethoven And Elise (For Tanja) ~ Betoven I Eliza

Rating: 5.0

If you were a beautiful pianist Elise
who is twenty-one years old,
and if I'm an old, deaf genius
who has forty and a few years,
I would read your thoughts
from the eyes, heart, and soul,
and I would fall asleep
with the sounds of African crickets
in my favorite baobab chair.
And you would play most beautiful music
for those who don't hear, but deeply feel.
You would write poetry.

Betoven i Elisa

Da si ti prelijepa pijanistkinjaEliza
od dvadeset i nešto godina,
a ja da sam ostarjeli nagluvi genije
od četrdeset i nešto godina,
ja bih čitao tvoje misli
iz očiju, srca i duše,
i zaspao bih uz zvuke afričkih crvčaka
u mojoj, omiljenoj fotelji od baobaba.
A ti bi svirala najljepšu muziku
za one koji ne čuju, ali duboko osjećaju.
Pisala bi poeziju.

A beautiful tribute to Beethoven's Fur Elise. It's a magnificent piece of music. It touches something deep inside us.

This is a lovely poem. I like the picture of the old couple, and the water reflecting the spirit of their love that has stayed forever young. Yes, poetry is music for those who don't hear. And perhaps music is a form of poetry for those who cannot see. But love is the only poetry that touches those who neither see nor hear, but can only feel.
