Bedazzling Looksand Smiles! Poem by Rajendran Muthiah

Bedazzling Looksand Smiles!

He never used a backdoor way to convey
his fancy ideas of her looks and smiles.
By a quirk of fate, he sent a message
by mistake to his angel in stead of
sending it to a woman research scholar.
A sudden bomb she hurled, " I don't like this."
" Sorry. It's missent", he replied at once.
She hit him badly with her last message,
"Anymore message will land you in trouble".
He was stunned and stopped to speak with her.
He stayed at home as the lockdown was imposed.
A month passed. He typed a question
"How are you? " in his cell phone and erased.
This thing repeated three four times.
In a drizzling day, he found a request
to help her with some Siddha medicine:
"Pleasebring three packets of 'Phlegm-fever-Drink'.
"Where to send? " was his next question.
"Please come to Murugan temple", she chirped.

Wearing a helmet, he rushed there to meet her.
She was waiting there with a bated breath.
He stretched out his hand but she refused.
As she began to take off his helmet,
"You want medicine alone ", he quipped.
" I want to see the face, I hurt", she wept 'loud.
He wiped her tears; she dipped her face in his hands.
" You smile and get the medicine, " he told her.
" No cures. I want you to shut down in my heart"
Covid-19 blushed at seeing them and moved off.
"....m. Keep social distance, " a womancop warned.
" You look gorgeous! ", he said and hit her eyes straight.
"If you speak this way, you'll be in trouble",
she snuggled her head on to his shoulders.
