Become Nothing Poem by Ragy Sandid

Become Nothing

Nearer these days
To these other ways
A thought stays
Who am I....nowadays?

In a world where fame
comes with a claim
or a frame
I wonder who remembers my name?

It's a bullet train
reckons nor sunshine nor rain
except a trail of motor stain
Who did I one day disdain?

Yet as I get younger
The distance gets longer
I deserve to be stronger
Where others thinks so no longer

And though 'nice' is a word
it is better seen than heard
the heart palpitates like a racing bird
And the body barks a bark that's absurd

Yesterday I saw the forest for the tree
the barks are large and not free
and I wandered among them proudly
Now I woodened where they used to be.

And now someone young throws her net
tossing her dice for the winning bet
that I'm the last of my kind she's met
And I and time won't change what's been set

Slowly she and I turn to face coined time
She hopes I'll disappear as soon as rhyme
But here I stay till time chimes its chime
Because decided disappearance is a certain crime

But a new version of me will emerge
and a phoenix out of me will surge
it has to because there's always an hour to purge
And re-live a moment, a moment before I was submerged

I try to leave the bags empty though weighed
I regret the days where I left my bed unmade
through and thick and thin I stayed
In air I become nothing and in that mist I fade.

A beautifully crafted write that tells about life particularly age and strength. I loved the last stanza.
